If you are a 90s kid and have spent your childhood in Bangalore, you must be aware of Halkova. Also known as cardamom barfi or maida barfi, this dessert is so simple but is no less than a little piece of joy. From petty shops to large stores, this dessert or snack (as some people call it) was easily available at dirt cheap prices. Made with just four ingredients like ghee, maida, sugar as well as cardamom powder, this dessert can take you down the memory lane. Believe me!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup maida
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
Method
- Take a pan and add ghee to it. Melt the ghee and add maida to it. Start roasting the maida and make sure you keep stirring.
- Keep stirring and you will see that the mixture will become frothy. After 8 to 10 minutes, the mixture will become smooth and glossy.
- When the desired consistency is achieved, remove the mixture from heat and let it come to room temperature.
- Now, add powdered sugar along with cardamom powder. Mix it well and form a smooth dough.
- Now, line parchment paper in a container and pour the dough into it. Leave it at room temperature until it sets completely.
- When done, cut it into pieces and serve!
