Fries, pakoras, and chips are among the usual evening snacks we eat at home. However, it is nice to occasionally try a unique homemade snack like Cornflakes Savoury Mix. It brings together a combination of flavours and textures, from crunchy to slightly spicy to slightly sweet.

The Cornflakes Savoury Mix can be prepared in the South Indian style. Buy plain-flavoured cornflakes from the market and spice it up with a mixture of sev, or noodle-like fries, peanuts stir fried in oil, red chili powder, roasted gram, and curry leaves. The sev can be made at home or bought from the store, likewise peanut mixture can be easily prepared at home, but it can also be bought from the store and used. As quite a bit of oil is used to make the sev and the peanut mix, it is advised to use less oil to fry or to place the sev and mix on a paper napkin to drain out oil to make the snack a tad healthier. The addition of various ingredients balances and complements the sweetness of the corn flakes, a cereal, which is usually put in a bowl of milk and eaten for breakfast.

Cornflakes have a few health benefits

Cornflakes contain sugar in the form of high fructose corn syrup so it is not like it is very healthy, but it is said to have some health benefits.
