On the occasion of Independence Day, the world’s renowned food guide Taste Atlas shared a list of the 50 best foods and drinks in India. The first position was bagged by chai masala, while Butter garlic naan secured the second position. The list featured so many dishes and drinks that not just Indians but people across the globe love. Other dishes that were featured in the top 50 list were butter chicken, korma, basmati rice, vindaloo, dosa, keema, Hyderabadi biryani, dal tadka, shahi paneer, chole bhature, malai kofta, tandoori chicken, pani puri, saag paneer, rogan josh, paneer tikka, misal pav, galouti kebab, puri, vada pav, and others.

It also featured desserts like kaju katli, kulfi, phirni, rasgulla, and rasmalai, and drinks like lassi of different types. Popular gins and tonics also find mention in the list. While creamy, buttery, and scrumptious butter chicken was ranked at the 6th position, chole bhature was ranked at the 25th position.
