Celebrate Poila Boishak With Some Chingri Malai Curry And Banana Walnut Nolen Gur Cake

Poila Baisakh, a festival dear to every Bengali's heart, is just around the corner and the city is preparing to celebrate with zeal. To mark the “Naba Borsher Bhuribhoj”, JW Marriott Kolkata is all set to celebrate Bangaliana with flavours of Bengal, soulful performances and an exciting weekend stay package. The hotel will take the city revellers into a festive fervour with their array of offerings.

For every Bengalis, Poila Baishak is a must celebration that needs to be tossed with scrumptious food and family gatherings. Patrons get to indulge in some scrumptious delicacies from the Bengali cuisine that will be displayed as a part of the buffet, with an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for you to select from at the JW Kitchen. The Grand Ball room will host various cultural events for patrons to enjoy. Some of the signature dishes on offer will be ‘Macher chop ,’Vegetable chop’, ‘Kancha Lonka Murgi jhol’, ‘Katla macher kalia’, ‘MangshorJhol’, ‘Bhapa Paneer’, ‘Labra’,’Kolkata style mutton biryani’ and many more. The festive buffet includes a Live Bhaja Fish Counter showcasing the classic fish dishes like ‘Amudi macher bhaja’, ‘Mourala macher bhaja’, ‘Sabuj spicy macher bhaja’, ‘Doi chilli macher bhaja’ to name a few. End your meal with all-time favorite Bengali desserts like ‘Misti Doi’, ‘Hot Baked Rosogollo’ ‘Moong dal Halwa’, ‘Besan Barfi’, ‘Mihi dana’ and much more. CHINGRI MALAI CURRY


Ingredients:

    Prawn peeled 30/40---210 gm

    Grated coconut—50 gm

    Cashew---70 gm

    Green chilli—3 no

    Cardamom green—2 no

    Ginger garlic paste—5 gm

    Turmeric powder—1 tsp

    Salt---taste to 

    Coconut milk—15 ml

    Sugar—2 gm

    Ghee nova—5 gm

Method:

    Make paste of coconut grated, cashew, green cardamom and green chilly    

    Take a pan add ghee and heat it

    Then put ginger garlic paste and prawn and sauté it for 1 minutes and keep aside

    Add the paste masala on that pan and cooked it for 10 minutes

    For that pour the water for dilute

    At last add sauté prawn, salt, sugar, coconut milk and turmeric powder

    Reduce it as much as require

    Served hot with rice

BANANA WALNUT NOLEN GUR CAKE 


Ingredients:

    1 Banana 2kg

    2 Brown sugar 1.5kg

    3 Nolen gur 500gm

    4 Whole eggs 20nos

    5 Refined oil 1400ml

    6 Refined flour 1600gm

    7 Cinnamon powder 30gm

    8 Walnuts 600gm

    9 Baking soda 45gm

Method

    Wisk banana and sugar and gur untill smooth...

    Add egg and oil keep wisking...

    Add all the dry ingredients mix well...

    Bake at 170*c, untill stick clean bake.
