Former actress and author Twinkle Khanna is renowned for her cheeky, witty one-liners, something that is also reflected in her social media posts.  The 46-year-old actress, is much more active on Instagram compared to her, actor Akshay Kumar, and also appears to be a bigger foodie of the two. Every so often, she gives us a sneak peak of her favourite breakfast, desserts and more. Remember the time, she dedicated the improvised version of the famous 90’s song ‘Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Paagal Hai’ to her favourite Ghee-laden Ladoos, “...par saamne jab tum aate ho, kuch bhi khaane se darta hai (whenever you come close, I fear eating you)”, she also sang. Looks like Twinkle’s sugar cravings got the better of her again, this time in Mussoorie.

Twinkle Khanna, shared an interesting reel about a certain ‘secret mission’ in Mussoorie, that she insists, is not about the Rose and Almond cake from Landour Bakehouse. The legendary bakery of Mussorie is more than a hundred years old. The cosy, rustic bakery continues to be one of the most sought-after places in Sisters Bazaar, Landour. But Twinkle did not go for their standard carrot cake and croissants, instead, in her reel, she captured a light-pink coloured, spongy cake topped with almond slivers from every angle possible. Alongside the delicate cake, we also spotted a luscious vanilla cupcake.

“Mussoorie Diaries: On a secret mission that has nothing to do with cake.But..a girl does need some form of sustenance on her reconnaissance expeditions:) #AllWorkAndNoCakeMakesJillADullGirl”, she wrote in her caption.

While the dessert looked every bit tempting, not everyone can take to the hills right now, So, what do we do, try making some rose-based desserts at home, of course. There are plenty of recipes that can truly brighten up your day.

Take, for instance, this Rose and Pistachio tart, crumbly and loaded, this tart is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

If tarts are not so much of your thing, you can simply whip up these rose petal brownies too and much away.
