Summer is here. This is the time of the year when we feel like drinking something cool every once in an hour. This is also the time when our throats get dry, we feel dehydrated and we need something to sip on all throughout the day. Summer makes us sweat and the body feels the need of rehydrating itself and that's why we need to keep on serving our body with the necessary nutrients that we keep losing through sweating all day. Yasmin Karachiwala, celebrity trainer to several Bollywood actors such as Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Bipasha Basu, Vaani Kapoor and Sophie Choudhry among others is known for sharing health-related information on her Instagram profile on a daily basis. A day back, Yasmin shared her version of a coconut cooler and wrote of the health benefits of having the drink as well. Take a look at the recipe here:

Ingredients:

2 cups coconut water

1/2 lemon with peel

1 orange

1 tbsp honey

3-4 ice cubes

Method:

Peel the orange and add it to the coconut water, lemon. Honey and ice cubes in the blender. Blend everything smoothly and strain it and serve it in a coconut.

Health benefits:

Lemon with peel, orange and honey serves the body with essential electrolytes, potassium and sodium. This in turn helps the body to rehydrate and get the necessary nutrients to keep itself healthy. Coconut water, on the other hand, contains potassium and sodium which helps in making the drink a perfect homemade electrolyte drink to control cellular fluid balance and maintaining the acidity level in the blood.

Staying hydrated helps in regulating the body temperature and maintaining the functioning of the organs. It also helps in serving the body with necessary nutrients, lubricating the joints and preventing infections.
