Try Your Hand At This Tempting Apple Crumble Cake Recipe

This yummy apple crumble cake is fluffy, soft, loaded with the taste of apples in the combination of cinnamon. Ingredients

For Crumbing Topping: 

  • 5 tablespoons of Butter 
  • ½ cup of Sugar 
  • ½ cup of Flour (maida) 
  • ¼ teaspoon of Salt 
  • ½ cup of Walnuts (chopped) 

For The Cake:

  • 1 large Apple (peeled, deseeded, chopped/diced)
  • 2 cups of flour (maida)
  • 2 Eggs 
  • 1 teaspoon of Baking powder 
  • ½ spoon of Baking soda 
  • ¼ teaspoon of Salt 
  • ¼ teaspoon of Cinnamon powder 
  • 1 cup of Sugar 
  • ½ cup of Butter 
  • 2 teaspoon of Vanilla essence 
  • ½ cup of Yogurt

Procedure For Crumbing Topping:

  1. Mix the above ingredients in a bowl. You can do this by using your fingertips or a food processor until it gets dry. 
  2. Refrigerate the mixing bowl until you prepare the cake batter. 

Procedure For Cake Batter:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F)
  2. Grease and line the bottom sides of a 9” mould. 
  3. Mix ingredients: baking powder, flour, cinnamon powder, salt and baking soda. 
  4. On the other side, beat the butter and sugar with a hand beater for about 1-2 minutes after adding vanilla essence. 
  5. Add flour and yoghurt alternately and end with adding flour. Beat till a smooth thick batter is ready. Mix in the diced apple. 
  6. Please put it in the prepared pan, even out the topping with a spatula. 
  7. Sprinkle the crumb topping over the batter. 
  8. Transfer the tray/pan to an oven. Bake it till the crumbs are golden in colour, or insert a toothpick into the cake, and it comes out clean. 
  9. Serve plain or with some whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or custard over it. 
  10. Your crispy golden crumble layer cake is ready!

Notes:

  • You can also add blueberries, strawberries, apricot, plums, peaches, and dry nuts to the batter. 
  • If you are a chocolate lover, you can also add choco chips, Nutella in the batter for more richness. 
  • This crumble can be stored for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. 
  • You can pack this on your trips/ parties or a perfect cake to gift someone.
