The beginning of a year is one occasion that almost the entire world celebrates, and in many different ways. To kickstart 2023, Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma along with her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, had jetted off to Dubai. And going by the pictures from their vacation, it seems like the celebrity couple are having the time of their life. On New Year’s Eve, Virat shared photos with his wife from their dinner date, while the latter shared many pictures from a party on her Instagram handle. Virat also shared an adorable picture of the two along with their daughter, Vamika, in which the family of three was looking at the “last sunrise of 2022”. But do you know what stood out for us in this? Anushka’s first meal of 2023!

Yes, the actor took to Instagram on Sunday morning (January 1) and shared a picture of her ‘healthy’ breakfast table. Can you guess what all it had? There was a plate full of sweet treats including mille-feuille – a puff-pastry dessert, and a cup of what seemed to be black coffee. “Starting the year on a healthy note”, Anushka captioned it along with a muscle emoji. We could guess that she was at the Dubai outlet of the iconic bakery and tea room from Paris - Ladurée - from the coaster on the table in the picture. Take a look at what Anushka shared:

For the unversed, a mille-feuille - also known by the names of Napoleon, vanilla slice, and custard slice - is a dessert made of puff pastry layered with pastry cream. And knowing Anushka’s love for sweet treats, we are quite sure she would have loved gorging on it. Quite a decadent start to 2023, we must say.

Both Anushka and Virat are big-time foodies. Before Dubai, the couple were in Delhi for a short span of time, and guess what they enjoyed eating? Chole bhature and stuffed kulchas. Virat is a huge fan of Delhi’s chole bhature and seems like the love has been passed on to Anushka as well. She took to social media to share a picture of it and wrote, “When in Delhi..” Read more about it here. Speaking of the first meal of the new year, what was yours? Let us know.
