Anupam Kher Gets Nostalgic With A Pahadi Feast In Shimla

With such a diverse background and experience, Anupam Kher comes with a lot of food memories. The actor was born in a Kashmiri Pandit family and his birthplace was Shimla. Given the two facts, his love for pahadi food, especially traditional Kashmiri food is no stranger to us. And that’s exactly what he’s been getting nostalgic about during his recent visit to Shimla.

The versatile actor never fails to impress us onscreen but it is his love for food that draws a lot of attention too. Currently in Shimla, which is also known as the Queen of hills, the actor is having a gala time with his brother, Raju Kher. After visiting a famous temple, the sibling duo headed to a small eatery on the Mall road of the hill station. He gave us a quick tour of the place and ended up eating a huge samosa at the end of it. In the background, one could hear him say that his father had brought him here to give him the biggest life lesson.

Next, his Instagram stories featured a simple and homely meal prepared at a relative’s place in Shimla. On the table, one could spot dum aloo, a spinach-based dish as well as a dal. There was a ghee-laden roti on the side. In the background of the video, one could hear kitchen sounds like the whistle of a pressure cooking and something being fried. Looks like Anupam is getting treated really well at his birthplace.

Most of them comprise of authentic Kashmiri food which makes him the happiest but at times, he also likes eating out and digging into South Indian food like dosas and upma. Not just savouries, he also has a big sweet tooth. From Western desserts like mousse, cakes and pies to Indian mithais like gulab jamun, rasmalai and more, the 67-year-old actor satiates his cravings time to time.
