Anand Mahindra's Post On A Giant Paratha-Making Video Goes Viral

Our country has welcomed different cuisines from all over the world with open arms. But when it comes to comfort food, nothing can beat the desi dishes. From simple dal chawal to spicy and flavourful biryani, we can ditch foreign dishes any day for Indian delights. The recent social media post by Anand Mahindra proved the same.

The famous industrialist took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to reshare a video of giant paratha making. It has gotten more than one million views since being posted on December 17. The video also had a caption that said, “Who needs pizza when you can have paratha?” Here is the video. Take a look.

Pizza and paratha are two iconic food items that are cooks' and chefs' top picks for experimentation. In this video, we can see the preparation of an enormous stuffed paratha. It starts with a pro chef skillfully kneading the dough. Then he generously loads the dough with a delicious filling and brings the edges together. Further, he dusts the flour on top of it and rolls the dough out into a massive paratha with a giant rolling pin.

The paratha is then masterfully placed on a massive tawa. The chef cooks it properly on both sides by flipping it until a perfect golden-brown colour is achieved. Later on, the gigantic paratha is cut into equal slices and served with curd, chutney, and pickle. The original video was shared by an account, @indian.foodie.boy.

Many people in the comment section have agreed with what Anand Mahindra said, including Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan. He agreed with Mahindra’s caption, which resonates with the emotion that comfort food always wins over global fast-food options, by replying “Truth” on the post. Desi food lovers also expressed their willingness to finish this huge paratha.

Some of the other top comments were, “Parathas are like the OG! You can stuff it, roll it, fry it, and eat it with pretty much anything—from spicy curries to sweet jams. And the best part? It's the ultimate comfort food! It's like a warm hug from your Indian grandmother,” wrote an X user. “Wow, amazing,” shared another. “Nothing can replace paratha,” said another user. So, what is your take on this huge paratha?
