One of the traditional delights prepared on Christmas is puddings. Plum to chocolate, bakers and pastry chefs get creative around this time of the year to lure foodies into experiencing the sugar rush. Here are some ideas that you can work on at home.

Dates Christmas Pudding

It is true that Christmas means sugary treats, but they can be healthier too. You can make a dish sweet without folding several cups of sugar in it. To make this pudding, you have to create a blend of mixed dried fruits, milk, condensed milk, breadcrumbs, nuts, dates, butter, and spices. After the ingredients are cooked on a stovetop, chill the pudding in mugs or a vessel before serving.

Toffee Christmas Pudding

Since Christmas is around the corner, you can think about experimenting with ingredients like toffee. Heat water, dates, and rum (optional) in a saucepan, and keep the concoction aside to cool off. In another pan, prepare toffee sauce using dates, brown sugar, and butter. Keep its consistency thick, and turn off the flame after the sauce comes to a boil. Add pudding mixture (whisked eggs, sugar, butter, date mixture, and flour) in a basin and top it with some chopped fruits. Cook the mixture in a steamer for a couple of hours. Once the pudding is set, drizzle toffee sauce all over it and enjoy.

Chocolate Pudding

If you are new to dessert duty, you should consider making chocolate pudding. It is relatively easier and appeals to the crowd of all age groups. Beat eggs and combine them with a creamy base of butter and sugar. Add flour, dried fruits, and chocolate chips to it. Keep the pudding basin in a steamer and cook the ingredients until the mixture sets. Let it cool off and garnish with melted chocolate.

Gluten-free Christmas Pudding

Despite holidays, many people like to indulge in healthy desserts. It is a must if you are allergic to gluten or struggling to manage health ailments. Cook gluten-free flour with orange zest, xanthan gum, ground almonds, spices, and dried fruits. Pour the pudding mixture into a container and let it sit in the refrigerator. Enjoy this pudding with cocktails, mocktails, and hot beverages.

Instant Pot Pudding

Nothing is better than a recipe you can prepare in a jiffy. You can cook all the ingredients - raisins, breadcrumbs, butter, dried fruits, spices of your choice, and sugar in a pot. Steam the ingredients in a pressure cooker for faster preparation. You can prepare fruity sauce, melt the chocolate, or make a glaze in advance to top the pudding once it is ready. This preparation will take you less than 30 minutes.
