A Surprise Chocolate Cake Changes Genelia D’ Souza’s Mood

There’s no mood booster quite like - a chocolate cake. One of the best surprises any foodie can get is by being treated to this  dessert on a day that’s not going particularly well. It is well known that chocolate has happiness boosting properties and a chocolate cake is a comfort meal that many foodies vow by. In a heart warming anecdote of a foodie and a chocolate cake recently, actress Genelia D Souza was surprised by this treat, from her crew to cheer her up. Genelia’s mood wasn’t happy and her team brought her a chocolate cake to devour as a comfort meal. 

In a video that Genelia shared to her Instagram story recently, she recounted the story of being surprised by a chocolate cake from her team. The video shows a happy Genelia who digs in to the cake with a spoon. A message that came with the cake reads, “Sun shines when you smile, love team GD.” Genelia had shared this video with the caption, “when you not having a good day but the crew makes sure to have your back n the partner in crime comes to give you the hug, you so need @riteishd.” Riteish Deshmukh who was a part of the surprise could also been seeing relishing the chocolate cake in the video.

If the duo’s chocolate cake binge has made you crave a chocolate cake, here’s an easy recipe of the same by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor: 

Easy Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients: 

  1. Refined flour (maida) 1 cup 
  2. Cocoa powder 4 teaspoons 
  3. Baking powder 1 teaspoon 
  4. Sugar 1 cup 
  5. Egg 2 
  6. Milk 3/4 cup 
  7. Oil 3/4 cup 

Method: 

  1. In a bowl sieve the flour and cocoa powder and add baking powder, sugar and mix well.
  2. In another bowl break and whisk the eggs well. Add milk and oil and mix well. Add the mixture to the dry flour, mix and blend well so that no lumps are left. Grease a non stick vessel with little oil and transfer the cake mix, and seal the top with aluminum foil.
  3. Boil two cups of water in a pressure cooker and place the vessel in it. Cover and cook without the whistle for half an hour.
  4. Allow it to cool.  Remove the cake from the vessel. Make the icing of your choice or serve cut into slices with tea.
