Do you have a sweet tooth and like to enjoy a creamy dessert, a spoonful of pudding, or perhaps just a few blocks of chocolate? But after satisfying the craving for something sweet, do you have a guilt that follows you around? Don’t worry; here’s an ingredient that will turn your desserts into nutritional delights. After all, who said desserts don’t have a healthier version?

You can get that twist by making yoghurt-based desserts. Understandably, yoghurt might not be the first ingredient that might pop into your head while craving for something sweet. But the creamy and tangy yoghurts come with many health benefits that can be used to make your favourite desserts like parfaits, pudding, jelly, and much more. Read on and go for the guilt-free options of desserts.

Fruit Yoghurt

The most healthy and yet satisfying dessert will be fruit yoghurt. With fruits that are naturally sweet, like strawberries, apples, grapes, pineapples, bananas, etc, mixed in yoghurt, you can curb your cravings while following a nutritious diet.

To make a bowl of fruit yoghurt, take plain yoghurt and mix it with a spoon of honey or powdered sugar as per your preference. Then, chop your favourite fruits as per availability and mix them in the yoghurt. Refrigerate for about half an hour and enjoy a bowl full of goodness and guilt-free sweetness.

Yoghurt Pudding

Puddings are one of the comfort desserts of so many people. Diving into a bowl of pudding after a tiring day just instantly makes everything better. And if you make it healthier, you’ll be even happier. So, take a saucepan and add milk, yoghurt, sugar, and cornflour. Let them cook on low flame till the mixture thickens. Then, let it cool and refrigerate for about two hours till the pudding is set. Now, you can pour it into serving bowls, garnish withe some chopped fruits, and you’re done.

Chocolate Yoghurt Parfait

If you’re someone whose desserts will be incomplete without chocolate, this yoghurt parfait infused with chocolate would be perfect for you.

To make this indulgent treat, take some tall glasses and layer them with yoghurt. After yoghurt, add a layer of chocolate-flavoured granola topped with chopped fruits like strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, grapes, etc. Repeat the layers till the glasses are filled to the brim. Then, as your favourite step, garnish them with greeted chocolate or chocolate chips.

Chocolate Shrikhand

For people whose favourites are traditional Indian desserts with a twist, chocolate is just the right guilt-free dessert for them. So, if you are a chocoholic, start by taking a bowl of yoghurt and condensed milk and beat the mixture till it is smooth. Then, add the dry ingredients like powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla essence and whisk until you get a uniform mouth-drooling shrikhand. Next, let it chill in the refrigerator for two hours, garnish it with chocolate sauce or chocolate chips, and dive in.

Yoghurt Jelly

Jiggly and wobble jellies are everyone’s nostalgic treats that remind them of their childhood. While you go down memory lane, you should note that yoghurt jellies are some of the healthy desserts that you can actually enjoy as if you were a child. To get your hands on these treats, start by soaking gelatin for a few minutes. Then, take a pan, add yoghurt and gelatin and keep stirring till the gelatin is dissolved. Next, add sugar and the food colour of your choice, and mix the ingredients. Once you get a uniform mixture, pour it into the mould and refrigerate it. After about four hours, take the jellies out of the mould, and you’re ready to get a spoonful of this innocent dessert.

Yoghurt Popsicles

For a typically hot day, you can indulge in yoghurt popsicles, and that, too, is guilt-free. For these frozen treats, start by mixing yoghurt with fresh fruits of your choice, like mangoes, oranges, strawberries, litches, etc, and a hint of honey. Then, pour the mixture into moulds and freeze them till they turn into icy popsicles. You can now enjoy them by yourself or with your kids and get a refreshing experience.
