It takes a lot of time to lose weight and become healthy physically. However, getting distracted for a few days from the diet can easily put all the efforts of a person in zilch. This is the very reason why every nutritionist and doctor tells a person to be consistent with nutritious food and make it a lifestyle rather than a sporadic stint.

Other than eating healthy, there are a lot of mistakes that people make without knowing that can lead to unwanted weight gains. Lunch is one meal of the day when a person is more susceptible to eating more food than required. Also after lunch, a person is more likely to stay sedentary which may further delay the digestion. Here are some common lunch mistakes that you should avoid to prevent unnecessary weight gain.
Delaying lunch and having it at an inappropriate time is something that we are all guilty of. The right time to have lunch is between 1 PM to 2 PM. Anything beyond that is very late, especially when one has had breakfast early in the morning and that too very light. One should always listen to the stomach and eat as and when one starts feeling hungry. Delaying the lunch will either kill the appetite or will lead to binge eating, both of which are extremely harmful to the body. Binge eating leads to eating more food than required and a person ends up gaining a lot of weight just because of not eating food on time.
* Not Planning Lunch In Advance
One of the most common reasons for eating unhealthy food at lunch is not having proper planning. One should always plan their meal so that they do not have a problem on the spot. Many people have a habit of ordering food from the outside while they are at their office. While there is certainly no harm in ordering food from outside, if one is eating something healthy, it may take a lot of time to be delivered. Also, indecisive people end up spending half an hour deciding what they want to eat. All of this is a very time-consuming process. This problem can be simply solved by diverting 10 minutes every day to the meal preparation of the next day. It can make everything a lot simpler and also save time.

* Imbalanced Diet
Having an imbalanced diet is a prominent reason why you are gaining weight. When your diet consists of more carbohydrates and fats than protein and fibre, it automatically leads to uncontrolled weight gain. Although it is important to have carbohydrates and fat, it is equally important to include protein, minerals, vitamins, and other important nutrients in the diet. Also, if one has a sitting job, then it is best to avoid carbohydrates and fats as much as possible because the body is not able to consume them and they often accumulate in the form of rigid fat in the body.
* Unhealthy Snacking
Unhealthy snacking during office hours such as eating, namkeen, biscuits, and processed chips is extremely unhealthy. All of these are high in sodium, and vegetable oil, and are often a source of a lot of cardiovascular problems. Working on the desk can be extremely boring which is why many people like to keep on munching on something to distract their mind. But this munching for distraction can become a habit that may lead to unnecessary weight gain. To avoid such a problem, people can simply switch their snacks and try to eat something healthy like fox nuts, dry fruits, fruits, cucumbers, and other such things.

* Eating Less
A lot of people have this misconception that eating less food is going to help them tackle the problem of excessive weight. This is the reason why most people end up not eating anything at all for breakfast as well as lunch. Some people eat something very minute or negligible that provides almost no nutrition to the body. This may lead to excessive body, fatigue, and loss of energy. Eventually, a person will end up eating more than required and will put unhealthy calories in the body. This is the reason why it is important to understand that eating less is not the key to losing weight. It is choosing the right food that helps in maintaining weight and optimum health.

* Having Meetings Before Lunch
Having a meeting just before lunch is also not the right way to go about it. Meetings are generally a bit unstructured which is why they can go on for a long time. This may delay a person's meal and also increase stress because of less energy. After coming from the meeting, a person might feel extremely exhausted and as a reward may end up eating something extremely unhealthy. The right time to have a meeting is generally just after lunch or early in the morning when one has just entered the office. This is when everyone has the right amount of energy.
