Since most of the baking does not require cooking with fire or using sharp tools like a knife, it is comparatively safe for kids to be around and learn something new. They can do easy tasks like stirring the mixture, adding ingredients, sprinkling chocolate chips on cookies, etc. Here are a few desserts that you can make with your kids.

Cupcakes

Believe it or not, cupcakes are the easiest to bake. Ask your kids to line up a tin tray and add paper liners to each container. In a small bowl, mix baking powder, salt, and maida, and give everything a whisk. Your kids can help you with it as well. In a large bowl, mix ghee and sugar to form a fluffy but lightweight concoction using an electric mixer. Keep adding one egg at a time.

Mix dry ingredients with the smooth blend and add milk and vanilla extract. Once you have achieved a smooth paste, fill each container about three-fourths of the depth with it. Bake cupcakes for at least 18-20 minutes and decorate with frosting. You kids will love them.

Cake Pops

Who does not love cake pops? Let alone kids, adults will also help you in making these. First, you bake a cake and crumble it in a large bowl after it has cooled down. Ask your kids to pour in their favourite frosting and mix everything together with their hands. Once you can knead this concoction into a dough, make small spheres with it.

You can ask your kids to play around with shapes. It will boost their creativity. Add these spheres to a baking sheet and freeze. After a house in the freezer, dip each pop into melted chocolate and freeze them all again for at least 30 minutes. You can store these in containers and enjoy them later.

Cookies

While you work on the cookie dough, preheat the oven to 180°C, and ask your kids to line the baking tray with baking paper. Whisk sugar and ghee in a large bowl to make a smooth paste. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk it all together until what you have is a fluffy and lightweight concoction.

Slowly start adding maida to the mix until you have achieved a slightly tight dough. Use an ice cream scooper to place a good amount of cookie dough on the tray. Ask your kid to add chocolate chip cookies to each cookie and bake them for 10-15 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Doughnuts

Prepare a mixture of doughnuts in a large bowl by mixing sugar, maida, melted ghee, salt, eggs, milk, and yeast. Knead the dough and keep it aside for at least an hour for the yeast to work its magic. Punch the dough and knead it again on the countertop after sprinkling some maida on the surface.

Using a cup, make thick rings, and keep them aside for 30 minutes. Deep fry them until your doughnuts look golden brown, and use paper towels to soak up all the oil. Ask your kids to dip each piece in jam or sugar syrup and sprinkle chocolate or powdered sugar on them.

Parfaits

Take a small jar and direct your kid to layer yoghurt, berries, and granola. This dessert is the easiest to make and requires no work with the fire, electric tools, and microwave. Therefore, it is the most safe delight that you can make with your kids.

Once you have set the layers in jars, refrigerate them for some time so that everything sets nicely. After 20 minutes, drizzle some honey or jam on each piece for added sweetness, and garnish with chocolate scraps and mint leaves. Freeze parfaits to settle and enjoy them with your kids.

Ice Cream Sandwich

Bake any of your favourite cookies, like chocolate cookies, coconut cookies, peanut butter cookies, etc. You will have to do the baking by yourself, but you can include your children in the process of making the mixture or blending ingredients. As soon as the cookies are baked, keep them aside to cool off.

Once done, help your kids to layer each cookie with ice cream. Ask your kids their favourite flavour of ice cream to layer the cookies with. Different fruity flavours can be used for this.  You can also spread fruit jam on the top, and cover it with another cookie. You and your kids will enjoy these a lot.
