5 Exotic Pickled Cocktails To Amp Up Your Celebrations

Be it a simple house party or a grand wedding, cocktails are an integral part of all kinds of celebrations. Made from various exotic ingredients like liqueurs, spirits, juices, herbs, spices and garnishes, these mixed drinks are always a part of every special moment. The best thing about cocktails is you can improvise them according to your preferences. Margarita, mojito, whiskey sour, negroni and old fashioned are some popular types of cocktails that are widely enjoyed all over the world. 

But have you ever added pickles to your drinks? If not yet, then here are five pickled cocktails you should add to the menu of your next celebration. 

Pickled Mango Mezcarita 

Ingredients 

  • 1 oz. Blanco tequila 
  • 1½ oz. mezcal 
  • 2½ slices pickled mango 
  • 3 tbsp pickled mango brine 
  • Juice of ½ lime

Method 

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.  
  • Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.  
  • Serve immediately. 

Pickle Mule 

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka 
  • 5 oz ginger beer 
  • splash lime juice 
  • Pickle for garnish

Method 

  • Combine all ingredients into a cocktail glass with ice. 
  • Stir gently. Garnish with pickle and enjoy. 

Pickle Juice Whiskey Sour 

Ingredients 

  • 3 oz bourbon 
  • 1 oz dill pickle juice 
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon 
  • Old Bay seasoning, for rim 
  • Cornichons, for garnish 
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Method 

  • Combine bourbon, pickle juice and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker along with ice.  
  • Shake well until chilled. Rub lemon around the rims of two cocktail glasses, then dip the rims in Old Bay. 
  • Pour the prepared cocktail into glasses and garnish each with a cornichon and lemon slice. Serve. 

Sucker Punch 

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz. Pimms No. 1 liqueur 
  • 1 oz. dill pickle brine 
  • ½ oz. cucumber vodka 
  • ½ oz. lemon juice

For topping 

  • Ginger beer  
  • Pickled watermelon radish for garnish 

Method 

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with large ice cubes and add Pimms, pickle brine, cucumber vodka and lemon juice. 
  • Shake briefly and strain into a cocktail glass filled with crushed ice.  
  • Top with the ginger beer and garnish with the pickled watermelon radish. Enjoy. 

Pickle Martini 

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces pickle vodka 
  • .5 ounces vermouth extra dry 
  • 2 or 3 cornichons garnish

Method 

  • Fill a cocktail mixing jar with ice. Pour in pickle vodka, vermouth and stir until chilled. 
  • Then strain the mixture into a martini glass. 
  • Garnish with 2 or 3 tiny pickles and serve.
