Bread is one ingredient that is not only a staple in many parts of the world, it is also a very versatile food item to work with. From starters to main course to dessert, a loaf of bread can be used to cook a variety of dishes. I mean, does it not sound incredible that the same bread which is used to make pakoda can also be turned into a pudding? So, if you have a packet of bread lying somewhere in your fridge that you do not know what to do with, here are a few delectable desserts that can be made with it.

Bread ka Halwa

Move over sooji, besan or moong ka halwa. You can use your bread to make halwa that is as delicious as any other dessert that you have tried. All you need to do is ghee-roast your bread, blend it and cook the mixture with milk and sugar syrup. Add some cashews on top of it and keep everyone guessing what you made this super delicious halwa with.

Why should you eat boring toast for breakfast when you can spruce it up and make a delicious pudding out of it? Just like any other pudding, make a milk, sugar and egg mixture with a dash of vanilla essence, soak your bread in it and then bake it. The creamy custard-pudding consistency along with the brown edges of the bread makes this dessert taste very delicious. Eat it chilled to enjoy a piece of heaven on your plates.

So, the next time you switch on your toaster to prepare the same old butter toast, remember your bread can transform into something as delicious as a pudding or a pancake.
