4 Ways You Can Use Your Leftover Mushy Apples

This has happened to the best of us when we brought a large number of apples and discovered that just a small number of them were mushy and soft, making them unpalatable to eat. So, rather than returning it to the fruit vendor, we left it in the fridge and never thought about it again. It caused them to decay, wasting both the apples and our money. 

But fear not, those mushy apples can be used in a variety of ways to create and prepare something fresh and even spectacular and amazing. We've put together this guide to show you how to make the most of those bruised and mushy apples. 

     Applesauce 

You can easily put those apples to good use by preparing apple sauce. Yeah, applesauce tastes great but it tastes even better when it is homemade.  

For this you would need-  

    3-4 apples chopped 

    Cinnamon stick 

    1 tsp lemon juice 

    1 tsp salt 

    ½ cup water 

    T tbsp brandy (optional) 

 Bring all of these ingredients to a boil in a saucepan, then reduce to a low heat and cover for 30 minutes. Remove the cinnamon sticks from the pot, drain it, and store it. If you desire a puree consistency, you can blend the applesauce in a blender.  This applesauce can be used in cakes, pancakes, donuts, and other meals as well. It can improve the flavour of any basic dish.

 

 

 •    Baked Stuffed Apple 

What could be better than a sweet treat? Of course, a healthy sweet treat. These baked apples are a healthy dessert, so try it when you're craving something sweet but also want to eat something healthy.  

Simply remove the cores from the apples and set them aside for this recipe. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins, and nuts in a mixing basin. Bake your apple till soft after stuffing it with this mixture. To make your dish even more delectable, add some vanilla ice cream on top. 

 

    Dried Apple Chips

This is a great snack to have when you're tired of your typical popcorn or chips, and it's also really sweet, so you'll enjoy it. Simply slice your apples thinly and microwave or bake them until they are dry and crunchy. These apple chips will become your new favourite nibbling snack, and you will keep recommending this to everyone.  

 

    Apple smoothie 

One of the greatest ways to make use of those mushy apples is to quickly transform them into a pleasant and delectable smoothie. It's also summertime, so the timing is ideal.  

Here's how to make it:  

Simply peel and core 1 or 2 apples, chop them, and combine them with almonds, 1/2 cup yoghurt or milk, a touch of cinnamon, and honey in a blender. Blend until it's completely smooth and no lumps remain.  Serve with a few ice cubes.
