Bacon Transformations Anyone Can Master

STEP 1.In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne, and black pepper.

STEP 1. Line a baking sheet with foil, place a wire rack on top, arrange bacon slices in a single layer, lightly brush each slice with maple syrup, and generously sprinkle the sugar-spice mix on both sides.

STEP 2.Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes, flip the bacon, then bake for an additional 10-12 minutes until dark golden and crispy, and sprinkle with sea salt immediately after removing from the oven.

STEP 3.Let cool 5 mins (it crisps more as it cools). Break into pieces or serve whole.
