With the relatively new Yamuna Expressway, it is a smooth, long drive from Delhi to Agra. From a five and a half hour ride to just a short drive of four hours, life has become quite easier with respect to commuting to Agra. Back in December, I went for a weekend getaway with my friends to the city and well, can I say that it was just amazing. The ride on the highway was really smooth sailing, with food courts popping every now and then. The best time to visit the city would be between December-February when the weather is pleasant and you can do all the sightseeing you want because, trust us, there’s a lot to be seen in and around Agra.

You’ve got the grand Taj Mahal, the majestic Agra fort spilling volumes of history in every pillar and corner and then there’s Fatehpur Sikri, not very far from Agra. People from faraway lands come to Agra just to dwell in the mesmerizing beauty of the Taj Mahal, a symbol of Mughal emperor Shahjahan’s love for his wife. No wonder it is called the City of Love. However, there’s more than love that Agra has to offer. Not just the famous Agra ka petha, there are plenty of street foods like dalmoth and aesthetic fine-dines that let you eat with a view of the Taj Mahal.
