Free food is perhaps a true foodie’s absolute delight. But have you ever gone to a restaurant and asked for free nachos ‘as a discount’ along with your dish? In India, it might be usual, but think of doing it in another country and you may get amusing looks. That’s exactly what happened when choreographer Farah Khan asked for freebies or a discount at an American restaurant. Farah Khan is in the US right now and is accompanied by none other than filmmaker Karan Johar, who is leaving no stone unturned to reveal her hilarious secrets.
The filmmaker has been sharing various snippets of Farah Khan while shopping or hanging around in New York City, and shared a short video of her from a restaurant counter in the city. The video definitely proves how Farah is an absolute foodie. In the video we can see Farah at a food counter, paying for the food she had ordered. As the man at the counter gives her a tray full of what looks like a Mexican baked treat, and says the food costs 9 dollars, she asks him, “Can I get free nachos as a discount.” He looks amused and simply replies, “No, sorry." The video has definitely left us in splits, and also proves how Farah is a foodie. “A transactional @farahkhankunder and a shocked American! But she does ask a valid question! Your thoughts ??” Karan wrote in the caption of the post. Farah’s comment on the post, however, also proves how she might be doing it for Karan! “How can u put this up??? but v did it for ur benefit” she wrote.
Several people related to the video and shared their own view. A lot of them said how they too ask for such discounts. “I am a proud Indian and will always ask for a discount…. Our birthright nah ….. Farah was justified" said one user while another wrote “She really does have valid point.” One user said how as Indians it is our birthright, “she's so real... Sab ke mann mein hota hai koi bolne ki himmat America mein nahi karta..But Indians have right to ask discount anywhere in the world” read the comment. Actresses Huma Qureshi and Rashmi Desai dropped ROFL emojis in the comments section.
This isn't the first time Farah Khan and Karan Johar have gotten into a banter over food. A couple of months back Farah Khan shared a video from the shooting sets with Karan Johar, where she caught him during his breakfast ritual. Farah wrote, "This is what breakfast looks like in a Karan Johar set." We hear Karan Johar say, "It's a healthy concoction of things."
