There’s no one who has been spared from a tummy murmur because of a midnight craving. Going to your kitchen late at night, and peeking into your fridge to see if there’s any leftover sandwich from your lunch to gorge on seems like a relatable scenario. Oftentimes, other than a few vegetables and the last slices of bread, there are no interesting ingredients kept in your fridge to whip up a Michelin star meal. However, what if we told you that you can make an interesting midnight munch from simple (and sometimes not that interesting) ingredients? Here are some three ingredient midnight munchies you can try out to satiate your cravings.

1. Malgapodi Rice

People in South India love to pair Malgapodi powder with Idli and Dosa. Malgapodi, also called gunpowder, when paired with rice tastes amazing. Everyone loves to eat this dish and it’s super easy to make. You don’t require a gas stove to make this meal. The three ingredients that you need to make this dish are rice (surplus rice leftover from another meal can be used), ghee and Malgapodi powder. In order to eat Malgapodi rice, heat some rice and ghee in the microwave. Pour the heated ghee on top of the rice and then put some Malgapodi powder and mix.

2. Grilled Chicken

If you’re a fitness enthusiast, chances of chicken breasts lying around in your freezer are massive as chicken are a great source of protein. All you need to do to make this three-ingredient recipe is some salt, butter and chicken breast. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Make a mixture of butter and salt by melting the butter. If you have garlic infused butter, use that instead of plain butter. Smear the chicken breast with the mixture of melted butter and salt and cook on the grill for 30 minutes. Sprinkle some lemon on the chicken breast and this healthy and tasty snack is ready to be devoured.

3. Mac ‘N’ Cheese

Mac and Cheese is a delicious midnight snack as it’s loaded with carbs and cheese. While there are many ways to make mac and cheese, we will share the simplest three-ingredient recipe with you. For this recipe, all you need is macaroni, shredded cheddar cheese and milk. Half cook the pasta and keep aside. In a wok, pour five cups of milk and bring to a boil. Pour the half-cooked pasta and stir continuously till it’s fully cooked. Turn off the stove and add shredded cheddar and keep stirring until the dish is fully coated. Eat hot and tasty Mac ‘N’ Cheese!
