It’s that time of year in the City of Joy when Bengalis gear up to celebrate Durga Puja. The best part about celebrating Sharodiya in Kolkata is that you get to take part in pandal hopping along with all sorts of rituals, from Shasthir Bodhon to Bijoya Dashamir Mishtimukh. To keep this spirit alive, a number of events are going to be held in the city, and here’s one more.

Durga Pujor Bangaliyana, organised by Sparsh Events & Facilities, is bringing a celebration of Bengal's food, music, and traditions to the Crystal Ballroom at Taj City Centre New Town, Kolkata, from 18 to 20 October 2026.

The event promises a full festive dining experience with its elaborate Bengali festive buffet, live instrumental performances, carefully chosen beverages, and Puja-themed decorations. For Bengalis, Durga Puja is about reunions, pandal hopping, new clothes, cultural events, and—most importantly—food, from traditional to contemporary. The festivities are closely linked to Bengal's culinary legacy, from sharing elaborate family meals to savoring phuchka at roadside stalls.

By combining these experiences under one roof, Sparsh Events & Facilities is giving families and friends a chance to take part in the celebrations without having to navigate congested streets and numerous dining options. In order to create an ambiance that reflects Bengal's cultural traditions, the third-floor Crystal Ballroom will include live instrumental performances of classical, folk, and Indian music along with Puja-themed decor.

This celebratory buffet's carefully curated menu features traditional Bengali home cooking, popular Kolkata street food, Indo-Chinese dishes, local seafood specialties, and famous desserts. Before finishing with mishti mukh, guests can transition from an elaborate Bengali main course to a vibrant chaat-counter experience.
