Soy sauce chicken with garlic and soy sauce is an easy and flavourful dish. This super recipe can be prepared within minutes so when you don’t feel to cook much, you can always prepare this delicious recipe. It is an aromatic dish which is also one of the favourite recipes of chicken lovers. The chicken chunks stay juicy and tender.

The dish is prepared with boneless chicken and is served in many parts of India. Here’s how you can make this tempting chicken recipe at home.

 Ingredients:

450 g Chicken Thigh/Breast 

1 tsp Sesame Oil (toasted)

1/4 tsp White Pepper (finely ground)

1 tsp Ginger Juice

2 tbsp Peanut Oil or Vegetable oil (divided)

5-6 Garlic Cloves (minced)

1 tbsp Ginger, grated

1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes

1/2 cup Red Onion, chopped

A handful of Snow Peas (trimmed)

1/2 Red Bell Pepper (cut into thin strips)

1/2 cup White Onion, chopped

For the sauce:

1 tbsp Rice Vinegar

2 tbsp Soy Sauce

2 tsp Dark Soy Sauce

2 tsp Chinese Rice Wine

1/2 tbsp Brown Sugar

1 tsp Cornflour 

Method:

Take a big bowl, and toss chicken strips with sesame oil and white pepper in them. Marinate them for approximately 10-15 minutes. Once done, leave them aside. 

Now add rice vinegar, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, Chinese rice wine, brown sugar and cornstarch in a bowl and mix them. Leave it for some time as well. 

In this step, heat a pan over a medium flame. Include 1 tablespoon of oil. Once the oil gets hot, put the marinated chicken pieces in it one by one. Ensure that these pieces are spread out. 

Fry them for a minute without stirring until the edges of these pieces turn light brown. Now stir them to cook from all sides. It will take approximately 2-3 minutes. Once cooked, transfer chicken pieces on tissue paper and keep it aside for a while.

Next, reheat the same pan and include 1 tablespoon of oil followed by garlic, ginger, and red chilli flakes. Stir-fry all the ingredients on a low flame for about 10-15 seconds. Ensure that garlic doesn’t get burnt while cooking.

Now, add snow peas and red onion to the pan and fry them on a high flame for a minute.

After this, include red bell pepper and cook them for one minute. Stir and toss all the ingredients often.

Once these vegetables get bright and look almost crisp-tender, add the fried chicken pieces to this pan.

Now, include the prepared sauce in the pan as well. Cook it until the sauce thickens.

In this step, include one or two tablespoons of water if needed and cook for another minute until the mixture gets hot and bubbly.

Once cooked, switch off the flame and garnish the dish with chopped white onion.
