An easy,luscious dish prepared from fermented tofu,glass noodles,bean curd & many other ingredients .This vegetarian stir-fry dish is healthy and delicious. It is one of the dishes usually served during the first day of Chinese New Year. The core flavour of the dish comes from the fermented tofu.

Ingredients for Zhai Choy With Fermented Tofu Recipe

  • 2 Nos bean curds
  • 2 Nos garlic cloves
  • 4 Nos Red tofu cubes
  • 500 milliliter Water
  • 3 Nos shiitake mushrooms
  • 3 Nos black fungus
  • 25 Nos dried lily buds
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 Nos carrot
  • glass Noodles
  • 180 gram Chinese cabbage
  • 1.50 tablespoon Sugar
  • As required Salt

  • STEP 1.Chop garlic

  • STEP 2.Mash fermented tofu

  • STEP 1.add oil in a pan & heat it

step 6

  • STEP 1.then add fried bean curd pieces in oil until golden brown and crispy

step 7

  • STEP 1.now soak the fried bean curd pieces in water to soften them and then break them into small pieces

step 8

  • STEP 1.in the same pan,add oil and saute chopped garlic at low flame and add mashed fermented tofu

step 9

  • STEP 1.then add water and bring it to a boil

step 10

  • STEP 1.once gravy boils,add mushrooms followed by black fungus,dried lily buds,dried bean curd pieces and dark soy sauces

step 11

  • STEP 1.after gravy starts boiling again add carrots,glass noodles and chinese cabbage

step 12

  • STEP 1.add sugar and salt/fermented tofu for saltiness.

step 13

  • STEP 1.reduce the flame and let it cook for 10 mins until all the ingredients are cooked
