Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the soaked rice.
  • STEP 3.Cook the rice until it is 70% done and drain the water.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cardamom pods and saffron strands.
  • STEP 5.Add sugar and water to the pan and let it simmer until the sugar dissolves.
  • STEP 6.Add the partially cooked rice to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked and the flavors are infused.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with fried nuts and dried fruits before serving.

  • Soak the saffron strands in warm milk for a few minutes before adding them to the dish for a more vibrant color.
