Quick fried snack loaded with spices. A spicy fry that goes well even with rice and curd. An easy recipe where yam is cleaned and pan fried along with everyday spices until it turns crispy and brown in colour. Yam is high in fiber and is considered to be portion in healthy low fat food hence it promotes weight loss. Yam is a cooling food and hence preferred in summers.

Ingredients for Yam Fry Recipe

  • 1/2 No.s Yam
  • 1/2 cup Butter Milk
  • As required Salt
  • 0.38 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste
  • As required Water
  • As required Oil
  • As required A few Garlic cloves
  • As required A few Curry leaves

Directions: Yam Fry Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 - slice the yam into quarter size pieces.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 - add some salt in dilute buttermilk and wash the yam pieces in it.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 - rinse the yam pieces with clean water.

step 4

  • STEP 4.1 - cook the yam in a pan until its ¾ th cook.

step 5

  • STEP 5.2 - add some salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and a dash of water.

step 6

  • STEP 6.3 - mix everything well.

step 7

  • STEP 7.4 - cover and cook until it is ¾ th done.

step 8

  • STEP 8.5 - heat some oil in a pan and shallow fry the yam pieces.

step 9

  • STEP 9.6 - cook garlic and curry leaves in a pan and garnish the yam with this mixture.
