  • 250 gram Yam, Peeled And Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • as required A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1 Dried Red Chilies
  • 1/2 tablespoon Tamarind Pulp
  • As required Salt To Taste

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Peel and chop the yam into small cubes.
  • STEP 2.Cook the yam in a pressure cooker until tender.
  • STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chilies.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked yam to the pan and mix well.
  • STEP 5.Add coconut paste, tamarind pulp, and salt. Cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with grated coconut and curry leaves.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with rice or roti.

Storage and Serving

  • Yam Erissery can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
