One of the traditional delicacies of the Guangdong province in China, winter melon soup had originated during the reign of the Qing dynasty. The soup was made to impress the imperial family. The winter melon, goji berries and pork make the soup nutritionally rich and filling. The wholesome soup can be savoured as it is at any time of the day. Moreover, the flavours of the soup will surely leave one craving for more.

Ingredients for Winter Melon Soup Recipe

  • As required Fresh Winter Melon
  • As required Carrots
  • 120 gram pork
  • 1 cm ginger
  • 300 milliliter Water
  • 2.50 liter Water
  • 1 tablespoon goji berries
  • 1 Nos honey date
  • 5 Nos red dates

Steps To Prepare

  • STEP 1.Deseed the melon and cut it into cubes.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Add water to a pot and bring it to a boil.
  • STEP 2.Add pork in water followed by ginger.
  • STEP 3.Once water begins to boil again, remove the pork.
  • STEP 4.Add water to a pot and boil it then add pork, goji berries, carrots, honey date and red dates.
  • STEP 5.Reduce the flame and let the soup boil at a low flame for 70 mins.
  • STEP 6.Lastly, add winter melon and allow it to cook at simmer flame for about 20 mins.
