Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak the whole yellow peas in water overnight or for at least 6 hours.
  • STEP 2.Drain the soaked peas and rinse them well.
  • STEP 3.In a pressure cooker, add the soaked peas, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 4-5 whistles or until the peas are tender.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
