  • 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 Nos Eggs
  • 0.13 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.06 teaspoon Salt
  • As required Ingredients for caramelised bananas
  • 1 No.s Bananas
  • 0.13 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
  • 0.38 Cup Milk

Directions: Whole Wheat Waffles With Caramelised Bananas Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large mixing bowl add ¾ cup of milk, crack 1 egg, ¼ tsp vanilla essence, 2 tsp baking powder, ⅛ tsp salt, 2 tsp sugar. Using a hand blender , whisk the mixture well until fluffy and combined.
  • STEP 2.Then add 1 cup whole wheat flour. Stir to combine the flour into the mixture. Use a hand whisk to whisk the batter and make it smooth and fluffy.
  • STEP 3.Next grease the waffle pan with oil and preheat it.
  • STEP 4.Spoon the waffle batter onto the hot waffle iron (pan). Fill each mold only half way as the batter will spread out as it cooks.
  • STEP 5.Cook the waffles till the tops get steamed. Tiny bubbles will appear. Turn them over and cook the other side, pressing down gently. Once done, remover the waffles from the pan and transfer them to a plate.
  • STEP 6.To prepare the bananas, preheat a heavy bottom pan. When hot, add 2 tbsp of butter on the pan anda allow to sizzle for a few seconds.
  • STEP 7.Then add 2 bananas cut diagonally into 1 inch thick slices. Allow the bananas to brown for about 30 seconds without stirring or moving them around the pan.
  • STEP 8.Next sprinkle ¼ tsp cinnamon powder, ¼ cup brown sugar over the bananas and stir them to combine the sugar cinnamon and butter.
  • STEP 9.Cook for about 1 minute till the sugar is melted and the bananas are caramelised but still firm. Turn off the heat.
  • STEP 10.To serve, place the waffles on a serving platter and spoon nutella (optional) over them. Then top with caramelised bananas along with the syrup from the pan. Serve immediately

Special Comments

  • STEP 1.Combination of oats flour and millet flour can also be used to make it a multigrain waffle.
