In this harvest season fresh wheat will also come. Sharing here one of the traditional kheer recipe which is prepared with whole wheat. Need a beat efforts while making kheer but it's worth when comes to taste, mostly have to smash it very well because it will enhance its flavour.

Ingredients for Whole Wheat Kheer Recipe

  • 1/4 cup wheat
  • 0-1/4 cups Water
  • 0.13 nos liter milk
  • 0-0.13 cup Jaggery
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 0.13 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 0-1/4 tsp Dried dates (Kharik powder)(Optional)
  • As required Some dry fruits (Optional)

Directions: Whole Wheat Kheer Recipe

  • STEP 1.First of all, clean the wheat with water and dry it. Now mix it once with a wet hand and put it in the mixer jar and run it on and off mode (Etching mode) so that the upper cover will get removed and it's powder will not form. If you want, you can also bring polished wheat from the market.
  • STEP 2.Now put it in 4 cups of water and cook it well in the cooker for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Now take it out in a big skillet or in cooker itself mash well.
  • STEP 4.Now add milk to it and cook it well. If you don't want to add milk you can add warm water.
  • STEP 5.Now add jaggery/jaggery powder and cook it well. Always keep it stirring so that it doesn't burn. If it looks too thick, then add some warm water or milk to it.
  • STEP 6.Now add cardamom - nutmeg powder, dry fruits, kharik(dried dates) powder and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add Dryfruits and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 7.Hot wheat Kheer is ready to serve. Serve with ghee.
