Ingredients for White Nigerian Meat Pie Recipe

  • As required Ingredients For The Pastry
  • 1.50 cup Butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 6 tablespoon Water
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 4 cup Wheat flour
  • As required Ingredients For The Filling
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 Nos Medium onion
  • 1 Nos Habanero minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Curry Powder
  • 2 Nos Stock Cubes
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • As required White and Black Pepper To Taste
  • 3 Nos Potatoes diced
  • 2 Nos Carrots diced
  • As required Thickener
  • As required Corn Starch and Water
  • As required Ingredients For Egg Wash
  • 1 Nos Egg
  • 2 teaspoon Water

Directions: White Nigerian Meat Pie Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Mince the habanero pepper . Ground the beef.

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add cornstarch in some water . In another bowl add all the ingredients for pastry and combine well

  • STEP 1.Now cover the dough with a plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge for 20 mins

  • STEP 1.Cooking directions for filling . in a cooking pot add oil & heat it

  • STEP 1. Add in chopped onions and saute it until translucent . Add minced habanero pepper and stir fry it for couple of secs

  • STEP 1.Now add the minced beef and saute until brown . Add in thyme ,black pepper ,white pepper ,curry powder and little bit of nutmeg

  • STEP 1. Add in stock cubes and salt as per taste . Then add diced potatoes and enough water to cook the potatoes

  • STEP 1.Cover and cook for 15 mins. After 15 mins add chopped carrots, mix and cook for 5 mins

  • STEP 1. Now add the cornstarch and stir it. Cook it for 2-3 mins with low flame

  • STEP 1.Transfer the dough in a workplace and roll it using a rolling pin . Cut it into circular pieces and place it on the pie cutter

  • STEP 1. Now put a tsp of filling on the center and brush the corners with the oil . Now close the pie cutter to give the flatten dough a shape of pie

step 12

  • STEP 1. Line the tray with baking paper and place the pie on it Brush the each side of pie with oil

step 13

  • STEP 1. Poke each pie with a fork . Preheat the oven at 325 degrees fahrenheit.

  • STEP 1. Bake the pie for 25 mins
