  • 1/5 cup Yogurt
  • 1/10 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/20 cup Grated Carrots
  • 0.40 tablespoon Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • 1/5 teaspoon Eno Fruit Salt
  • as needed Oil For Greasing

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan, dry roast the wheat rava until it turns golden brown.
  • STEP 2.In a mixing bowl, combine the roasted wheat rava, yogurt, and water. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Add salt, grated carrots, chopped coriander leaves, and eno fruit salt to the batter. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Grease the idli plates with oil and pour the batter into each mold.
  • STEP 5.Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked through.
  • STEP 6.Once done, remove the idlis from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.
  • STEP 7.Serve the wheat rava idlis hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to roast the wheat rava on low heat to avoid burning.
  • You can add grated vegetables like carrots, peas, or capsicum to the batter for added nutrition.
  • If you don't have eno fruit salt, you can substitute it with baking soda.
