Ingredients for West Lake Fish Recipe

  • 1 stalk Whole grass
  • 1.50 cup Water
  • 5 piece Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Brown or white sugar
  • 0.33 cup Black vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Rice Wine
  • 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • As required Salt
  • As required Any sort of fish

Directions: West Lake Fish Recipe

  • STEP 1.Clean the fish with cold water and pat dry.  using a knife cut the desired pieces and slices.
  • STEP 2.Add water and ginger slices to a wok on medium flame. Lower the fish slowly and poach gently for 8-10 minutes. Carefully remove the fish from the water and pat dry.
  • STEP 3.Now in the water add the sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce and bring to a boil over medium flame. (lower the quantity of the water maybe a half a cup)  keep stirring to dissolve sugar.
  • STEP 1.Stir the cornstarch and rice wine or water to form a slurry and whisk enough of the slurry into the simmering sauce to thicken it lightly.
  • STEP 1.Remove the sauce from heat and adjust seasoning with salt. Pour the sauce over the fish and serve immediately.
