Ingredients for Vendeykka Thoran Recipe

  • 2 tablespoon Coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 3/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 2 Finely chopped onion medium size
  • 3 cup Finely chopped ladies finger
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chilly powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • As required Salt

Directions: Vendeykka Thoran Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Set a pan on the stove on medium heat with 2 tbsp cooking oil.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Add ½ tsp mustard seeds. When mustard seeds splutter add in ½ tsp cumin seeds, 1 sprig of curry leaves and2 finely chopped onions.

  • STEP 1.Saute the ingredients till the onion turns pale brown.

  • STEP 1.Into the pan add 3 cups of finely chopped ladies finger and mix well.

  • STEP 1.Turn off the flame to low heat and cook for around 20 minutes in total.

  • STEP 1.In between continue stirring and add in masala like ¼ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp chilli powder.

step 7

  • STEP 1.Also add ¼ cup of grated coconut and ¼ tsp of cumin seeds and stir well.

step 8

  • STEP 1.Sprinkle a pinch of salt for final touch. Stir well till the ingredients are well cooked.

step 9

  • STEP 1.Turn off the flame and serve as a side dish with meals.
