STEP 2.Take a pan, add a spoon of ghee, 1 spoon of cumin seeds, pepper, ginger, chillies, cashews, curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida. Now saute for some minutes on low flame. Wait until the tempering turns golden brown.
STEP 3.Add the tempering into the cooked rice and mix well.
STEP 4.The ven pongal is ready.
STEP 5.Take a pan, add some ghee, rice, moong dal and saute them for a minute. wait till it turns aromatic. Add a cup of water, salt to taste and mix well.
STEP 6.Cover the lid and let it cook for 5 whistle blows. check if its cooked well.
