Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak the glutinous rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and sauté mushrooms, tofu, and vegetables until cooked.
  • STEP 3.Season the cooked vegetables with soy sauce, sesame oil, and other seasonings of your choice.
  • STEP 4.Place a bamboo leaf on a flat surface and add a spoonful of soaked rice.
  • STEP 5.Add a spoonful of the cooked vegetable mixture on top of the rice.
  • STEP 6.Cover with more rice and fold the bamboo leaf to form a pyramid shape.
  • STEP 7.Tie the dumpling securely with kitchen twine.
  • STEP 8.Steam the dumplings for about 2 hours or until the rice is cooked and tender.
  • STEP 9.Serve hot or at room temperature.
