step 2

  • STEP 1.In the masterchef jar and the chopper blade, add 100 gm cabbage and blend to a fine mince.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Next attach the grater blade and grate 2 carrots. Keep aside.

step 4

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl add 3 boiled and peeled and mashed potatoes, add 2 grated carrots, 1 cup minced cabbage. To this add salt to taste, ¼ tsp black pepper powder and 2 tbsp cornflour or more if required.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Mix the ingredients till they come together. Shape into small lemon sized balls. Keep aside.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Put a paniyaram pan on the heat and drizzle oil in all the cavities, place a manchurian ball in each cavity and cook till they are brown and cooked on all sides. Drizzle a little oil while cooked and turning the balls over. Take them out of the pan and keep aside.

step 7

  • STEP 1.To make the sauce, in a small mixing bowl add 2 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp red chilli sauce, ½ tsp soya sauce, ½ tbsp tomato ketchup not too much as the orange juice is already sweet. Add in 2 to 3 tbsp orange juice and mix the ingredients well so that no lumps are formed. Do not add salt at this time since all the mixed sauces have sauce.

step 8

  • STEP 1.Preheat a pan and drizzle 1tsp oil. Add 4 cloves chopped garlic, 2 inches chopped ginger, 3 stalks chopped spring onions and saute for a few seconds til aromas come through.

step 9

At this stage taste the sauce for salt and seasoning and adjust accordingly. Once the sauce has thickened and is ready it will develop a sheen because of the cornflour. Turn off the heat.

step 10

  • STEP 1.When ready to serve ,spoon the sauce into a serving bowl and then add the manchurian balls. Serve immediately.
