Directions: Vegetable Rice Bath Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped vegetables like carrots, beans, peas, and capsicum. Cook for a few minutes until they are slightly tender.
  • STEP 5.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
  • STEP 6.Add the soaked rice and mix gently. Add water and salt as per taste.
  • STEP 7.Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the rice is cooked and the flavors are well blended.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with raita or pickle.

Cooking Tips

  • You can use any vegetables of your choice like cauliflower, broccoli, or corn.
  • To enhance the flavor, you can also add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) while tempering.
