  • STEP 1.First of all wash the rice and dal thoroughly in a bowl and soak them for 1/2 hour.
  • STEP 2.Now put 2 spoons of ghee in the cooker and heat it, then add cumin seeds and splutter, then add cloves and black pepper and fry them, then add finely chopped onions and cook them until they turn pink, then add finely chopped tomatoes and cook them for 1 minute, then cut the vegetables. Add the chopped vegetables, mix and cook while frying for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • STEP 3.Now add all the dry spices and mix.Now add dal and rice and mix it, add 2-1/2 glasses of water and then add salt and mix. Now close the cooker and apply 3 whistles, then cook on sim gas for 5 minutes. Now mash a little. After tempering dry red chilli cumin, asafoetida and ghee, your delicious hot garam masala dal khichdi is ready.
