Veg Lollipop Recipe

Veg Lollipop is basically derived from chicken lollipop, replacing chicken with vegetables. Veg lollipop are crispy fried balls made with mix vegetable filling. In the Indo Chinese cuisine, there are two types of vegetarian lollipops. One is made with cauliflower and the second one is made with mix veggies. In this post I am sharing the mix vegetable version. These veg lollipop are too good and disappear in no matter of time. Veg lollipops make for a great vegetarian appetizer or a starter snack at get together and parties. You can serve them with any dip or sauce or chutney.

Ingredients for Veg Lollipop Recipe

  • 1 No.s boiled potato, peeled and grated
  • 0.13 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 0.13 cup green peas
  • 0.13 cup capsicum, finely chopped
  • 0.13 cup carrot, grated
  • 0.13 cup Corn
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon amchur / dry mango powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 0.13 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon maida / refined flour
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour
  • 0.13 teaspoon pepper, crushed
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • As required oil for deep frying

Directions: Veg Lollipop Recipe

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl take 2 boiled peeled potatoes.
  • STEP 2.Add ¼ cup chopped onions, ¼ cup chopped capsicum, ¼ cup grated carrot, ¼ cup green peas, ¼ cup corn and coriander leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add ½ tsp red chili powder, ¼ tsp of garam masala powder, ½ tsp of amchur, ½ tsp of chaat masala, ½ tsp of ginger-garlic paste and salt to taste.
  • STEP 4.Add ¼ cup of bread crumbs and mix everything well.
  • STEP 5.Prepare a soft dough and add breadcrumbs if required for the dough.
  • STEP 6.From this dough prepare small balls and keep aside.
  • STEP 7.For maida paste, in a bowl add 2tbsp of maida, 2tbsp of cornflour, 1/2tsp of crushed pepper and ½ cup of water combine everything well.
  • STEP 8.Now dip the prepared balls in the maida paste and coat with breadcrumbs uniformly.
  • STEP 9.In a pot, heat oil for frying, deep fry the balls in hot oil or bake at 180 degree celsius for 12 minutes.
  • STEP 10.Stir occasionally and fry on medium flame till the balls are golden brown in appearance.
  • STEP 11.Serve the prepared lollipops in a plate with a dip.
