  • 1/2 cup Dalcha': [' Lentils
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • as per your need A Few Curry Leaves
  • 1/2 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 Green Chilies, Slit
  • 1 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • as per your need Water As Needed
  • as needed Vegetables Of Your Choice
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish
  • 1/2 cup Ghee Rice': [' Basmati Rice
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/2 stick Cinnamon
  • 1 Cardamom Pods
  • 1 Cloves
  • 1 cup Water
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • as required A Few Strands Of Saffron

Directions: Dalcha &ghee Rice Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes. Cook the lentils with turmeric powder and salt until soft.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Saute until the seeds splutter.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, and green chilies. Cook until the onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 5.Add the cooked lentils and mix well. Add water if needed to adjust the consistency. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • STEP 6.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Saute until fragrant.
  • STEP 7.Add soaked and drained basmati rice to the pan and saute for a few minutes. Add water and salt, and cook until the rice is done.
  • STEP 8.Serve the Dalcha with Ghee Rice and enjoy a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Cooking Tips

  • You can add vegetables like carrots, potatoes, and brinjal to the Dalcha for added flavor and nutrition.
  • To enhance the aroma of the Ghee Rice, you can also add a few strands of saffron soaked in warm milk.
  • Garnish the Dalcha with fresh coriander leaves for a pop of color and freshness.
