  • 1/4 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Boil the green peas (vatana) until soft and set aside.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add chopped onions. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears.
  • STEP 4.Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
  • STEP 5.Add chopped capsicum and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 6.Add boiled and mashed potatoes, boiled green peas, and pav bhaji masala. Mix well.
  • STEP 7.Add salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder. Mix and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 8.Add water and simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes, mashing the vegetables with a masher.
  • STEP 9.In a separate pan, heat butter and add chopped garlic. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 10.Add this garlic butter to the bhaji mixture and mix well.
  • STEP 11.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with buttered pav.
  • STEP 12.For serving, lightly toast the pav with butter on a griddle.
  • STEP 13.Serve the Vatana Pav Bhaji with the buttered pav and a side of lemon wedges.
