Vada pav - an Indian Burger is a very popular street food native to Maharastra. This delicious delicacy consists of bread bun and deep fried potato dumplings (bataka vada) accompanied with green chillies and special, spicy dry garlic chutney. History says that this rustic and mouthwatering snack was invented by Ashok Vaidya of Dadar (Mumbai- Maharashtra) in 1966. Ingredients for Vada Pau Recipe

  • 2 Pieces vada pav buns
  • 2 Pieces bataka vada
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tsp dry garlic chutney

Directions: Vada Pau Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. Heat skillet and add little butter and 1 tsp dry garlic chutney. (Bataka vada recipe is posted separately)
  • STEP 2.2. Then cut bun from center, keeping one end uncut, and sauté it in butter-garlic chutney.
  • STEP 3.3. Then put one bataka vada on it and press little.
  • STEP 4.4. Cover it and sauté little by adding more butter.
  • STEP 5.5. Serve hot with fried green chillies, green chutney and dry garlic chutney.
