STEP 1.Take water in a bowl and soak urad dal in it for 3 hrs. Wash it and then drain properly.
STEP 1.Take a jar and add soaked urad dal, curry leaves, green chilli and ginger. Grind well by adding 1tbsp water to get a coarse paste.Add water if required. Grind the urad dal in batches.
STEP 2.Beat the dough using a fork for 5 mins. Add medium sized crushed ginger, 5 chopped green chillies, chopped curry leaves, salt to taste and a pinch of asafoetida powder. Mix well.
STEP 3.Heat oil in a kadai.
STEP 4.Take a bowl with water and dip your hands in water. Then take a small portion of the mixture. Using your thumb, make a hole in the middle. Carefully put it to the oil and fry it in medium flame.
STEP 5.Turn it after 2 minutes. Fry it until both sides become golden brown in colour.
STEP 6.Repeat step 4-5 for the rest of the mixture.
STEP 1.Be careful when adding water while grinding.
