It is a popular, traditional Snack from the land of Kerala mainly prepared from rice flour and urad dal flour. Tempered with sesame seeds and cumin seeds.
STEP 1.In a bowl add ingredients one by one.i.e., 1 cup of roasted rice flour, 3 tbsp roasted urad dal powder, 1 tsp cumin cumin seeds, 1 tsp sesame seeds, ¼ tsp asafoetida powder and a pinch of salt to taste.
STEP 2.Pour into the mixture 2 tbsp of hot coconut oil and mix well
STEP 3.Add ½ cup of water and form the mixture into dough.
STEP 4.Make balls of dough. Roll the dough to get an elongated thread of dough. From it form as many ring shapes as possible.
STEP 5.Stir fry in a deep pan with 1 cup oil until the rings are golden brown.
