Ingredients for Urulakizhangu Mezhukupuratti Recipe

  • 1 cup Chopped potato lengthwise
  • 1 cup Chopped Onion
  • 4 No.s Green chilli
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Coconut oil

Directions: Urulakizhangu Mezhukupuratti Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a bowl add 1cup of chopped potato, 1 cup chopped onion,1 sprig of curry leaves, 4 green chillies split in half, ½ tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp chilli powder.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Mix all the ingredients together by hand. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.

  • STEP 1.Set a pan on the stove and turn on the flame. Add in 2 tbsp coconut oil and splutter 1 tsp of mustard seeds.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Mix the ingredients gently on the pan so that the potato doesn’t get broken or smashed.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Cook with the lid covered on for 3-4 minutes.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Add in the water residue to the pan from the bowl in which ingredients were kept aside. Mix well and continue stir cooking for another 2-3 minutes. Serve hot.
