 A quick easy delicious dish prepared from urad dal & wheat flour. Urad dal poori or bedmi poori is a popular Indian street food especially in Agra, Mathura, old Delhi and now an integral part of most Indian kitchens must say. Bedmi poori is served hot with spicy, tangy potato gravy with a pickle in North India and a popular breakfast item. It is a deep fried whole wheat flour flatbread mixed with a spicy mixture of urad dal (lentil).

Ingredients for Urad Dal Poori Recipe

  • 1/4 cup urad dal
  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 3 Nos dry red chilli
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • pinch A asafoetida powder

Directions: Urad Dal Poori Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak urad dal in water for 8 hours

step 2

  • STEP 2.Grind soaked urad dal coarsely with 1 tbsp of water

step 3

  • STEP 3.Then grind fennel seeds,coriander seeds and red chilli separately.

step 4

  • STEP 4.Take wheat flour,add some salt,grinded fennel coriander powder, asafoetida powder

step 5

  • STEP 5.Now add urad dal,water,knead and make a dough.

step 6

  • STEP 6.Add 1 tsp oil knead and cover it for 15 mins.

step 7

  • STEP 7.1.make balls of the dough.

step 8

  • STEP 8.2.flatten it on the rolling board

step 9

  • STEP 9.3.add oil in a kadai & heat it

step 10

  • STEP 1.place the puri gently and fry it. flip and fry from both the sides
