Salted tender mango prepared in the ceramic pots. Uppu manga is prepared by dipping specially handpicked tender mangoes in salt water solution. Once kept for a specific duration, mangoes become soft and absorb salty flavour from the brine solution. That's the reason you get the same unmatched awesome quality year after year serving a flavorful twist to your meals.

Ingredients for Uppumanga Recipe

  • 0.08 kilogram Tender mango
  • As required Rock salt

Directions: Uppumanga Recipe

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and clean 2 kg of tender mangoes. Pat dry with a kitchen tissue. Take a ceramic jar.
  • STEP 2.Base a layer with rock salt and then add another layer of tender mangoes then add another layer of rock salt.
  • STEP 3.Repeat the process till the ceramic jar is fully filled up.
  • STEP 4.Close the jar with a lid and wrap around a cloth around the jar head. Tie the cloth using a string.
  • STEP 5.Store the jar in a dark and cool place for 30 days.
  • STEP 6.Shake the jar every 4th day so that the ingredients are combined well.
  • STEP 7.Open the jar only on the 30th day and the brined tender mango will be ready.
